Jaclyn Cosmetics - Bronzer and Blush Duo + Accent Light Highlighters ~ Swatches

 *purchased by me*

Hi loves! Omg last I posted in December, dang! I knew it was long but didn't think that long. I meant it's been crazy. Work is double busy and on top of that my boss told us that he will move office from NY to NJ... And if I am willing to stay it will be more then 2h traveling time one way... So yeah this is not working for me and I been job hunting for the past month. Not easy... Anyways wish me luck as I am sending my resumes out.

Now, in this new post lets take a closer look at newest Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics launch, namely highlighters and bronzer/blush duos. I thought I will skip on these but oh my just look how beautiful they are. I managed to grab 3 highlighters and 2 duos at Ulta Beauty few weeks ago.

The first ever highlighters were launched back in 2019 and since then she revamped them. I personally never gotten any of the old ones (I did wanted the Flesh palette), but now I jumped and purchased  the new ones. The shades in the Flesh palette can be bought separate which made me really happy! I been dying to get that palette but its discontinued now.  But never the less I have the shades I wanted, woohoo.

Accent Light Highlighters ($29) - one word amazing! seriously amazing! Lets start with the gorgeous compact the highlighters are housed in. Its beautiful! She did such an amazing job on it. They are smaller then the duos, all gold and just luxurious feeling. Its a baked formula that gives the amazing glow on the skin. It swatches and applies really good, with no fall out and it last all day. Each shade I got looked good on my skin. Seriously I am loving them at the moment. Shades I go are:

* Sparks - frosted gold

*Iced  -frosted champagne

* Mesmerized - soft peachy highlighter

Blush and Bronzer duo next~

Bronzer and Blush Duo ($36) - I picked two palettes one slightly warmer and darker and one lighter and cooler. The formula on these is good. Swatch wise they looks and swatch beautiful. When applied with a brush there is a kick up of the powder. They are sheer and they can be build up. These are perfect for people who are not a fan of blush or just starting playing with makeup. Now the packaging on these is stunning! Very lux and super high end. Loving the black with rose gold detailing. Even the outside box is gorgeous! I overall like them but really hope she can make more shades and bit deeper. When I am on the run I don't have time to sit and build blush or bronzer to my desire color. Shades I picked are:

* Lilac Love /Top Tan - lilac blush and light brozner with neutral undertone.

* Warm Flush / Golden Goddess - warm peachy blush and light brozner with warm undertones.

And that would be it. I mean I am really loving the highlighter the most and I hope she can come up with more wearable shades. I am also thinking if I should pick the beam loose highlighter and the mood exposure powder. No idea what to do LOL. Mood exposure powder is a all over face powder, but since I have an oily skin I am afraid it will not work on me. As for the beam loose highlighter is that I don';t use much of loose highlighters but there are two shades that I are calling my name.. I dunno what to do ... decision decision. Anyways that is will be it for now. Hopefully you going to see more post from me soon:) Hugs

CoverFX Monochromatic Blushes - Swatches part 2

 *purchased by me*

I swatches part 1 over here. And like I mention in that post I will be getting more colors of these beautiful blushes. Once again ULTA Beauty had them on sale for FALL 21 Days of Beauty Event. I think these blushes were the only interesting thing during the sale... No wait, I had Shape Tape in my cart but forgot to check out on time so ... it went back to regular price...

Now the blushes. I picked up other three shades I was missing (was not interested in bronzes at this time).

So I got

  • Warm Honey - its the lightest in this bunch. Its has bronzey gold undertones. As name suggest its warm and I bet it would look perfect on summer tan skin. :) Not that I have any tan hahaha I white as a sheet but I know these babies are blenadable so I bet it will look good on.

  • Spiced Cinnamon - this is more of a terracotta shade. Again it has lovely warm undertones and I think this one would look pretty during Fall months.
  • Sweet Mulberry - ha I don't know what I was thinking when I added this one to my cart... I mean its dark and plumy but at the same time gorgeous! I just hope I will be able to pull it off. Also if you remember my last post I mentioned that I wanted one more shade but when I went back it was out of stock, Well this was this shade.
From top warm Honey, Spiced Cinnamon and Sweet Mulberry

I order them on September 10th and got them already on September 12th. So surprised! I mean I been getting a snail mail lately and every one I swear every one blames Covid... And then there is ULTA who ships packages out in flash... so if ULTA can so can other companies .. Just saying ,....

CoverFX Monochromatic Blushes - Swatches

*purchased by me*

*** These babies are coming for FALL 21 Days of Beauty Event. They will be available at ULTA on September 10th . GET READY Ladies ! ***

As you can remember I got these blushes during Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty Event.
There were half off (org. $38, got it for $19).
You guys I been wanting them form the moment they launched but yeah spending $38 on a blush was to much for me.
It took me forever to decide what colors to buy... I did want them all and I will get the reaming colors at some point. I did a lot of thinking, watched YT videos and looked for swatches on blogs etc. Finally I made my mind up and added 4 shades in my cart just to delete one.. I went back later on to buy it but it was sold out. They did surprisingly sold out super fast.

Description from the brand:

The duo includes both a "monochromatic matte and shimmer shade" that can be used "individually or layer[ed] together." The blushes are described as having "high-impact payoff" with no other specifics. The consistency of the matte shades was incredibly silky, finely-milled, and smooth without being powdery--they were thinner but not difficult to apply and sat well on bare skin as well as over foundation. The pigmentation ranged from semi-opaque to opaque and was definitely buildable."

I got following shades:

* Mojave Mauve - perfect romantic dusty rose. warm matte and luminous pink duo gives this romantic look the the cheeks. This one is my fave.

* Pink Dahlia - pretty flush of pink. Contains matte coral and shimmery warm pink

* Soft Peach - a peachy nude shade gives sublets of flush to the skin for a fresh look

from the top Pink Dahlia, Soft Peach and Mojave Mauve

I have not worn all the blushes as yet. The only one I tested with full on makeup was Mojave Mauve. Gosh words can't describe how much I love that blush. The color was pigmented but blended so nice on the cheeks. Just keep the pigmentation in mind and don't pick up much product if you have fair skin tone. I applied both shades on and it did give a beautiful radiant flush.
These are really worth it. You get two blushes in one compact. I do understand that $38 is not for everyone, so my advice- wait for some kind of sale :)

MAC x Selena La Reina Collection - my picks

*Purchased by me*

Ok, so who remembers when the first Selena x Mac collab launched? I think it was sold out in minutes coz I only gotten a gloss that my friend kindly gifted to me.

This year the second part, the launch was much smoother. There was a pre-sale and then official launch on Mac, Macy's , Ulta Beauty websites. I got my order from Ulta (double points for my extended birthday month) it took around two weeks to get the order in :) And I ordered what ever I wanted from the collection, nothing more nothing less.

The packaging  on the collection is really something :) It resembles Selena's bejeweled bra she wore during her shows. Inside the palette and highlighter there is a picture of her in that bra. The whole collection was done with the black and silver theme and I like it :)

  • MAC x Selena La Reina Extra Dimension Skin Finish - shade La Leyenda. This baby sold out so fast. And I totally understand why. Just look how gorgeous this rose is! Its described as medium dark gold with strong, warm peachy undertones and the metallic sheen. Right of the bat I tell you this shade is not for me. My skin is way to light to pull it off. I only going to add this to my "untouchables" drawer, which includes all beautiful, limited edition Mac pieces. Retail $37

  • MAC x Selena Me Siento...Muy Excited Eye Shadow Palette - a 8 pan palette with mattes and shimmers. There are two Dazzleshadows in this palette that apparently are not so great. No clue I didn't dig in the palette yet. Not sure if I will. Like I said I have "untouchable" drawer and that's were the palette will go... I think. Ugh I don't know what to do... part of me wants to grab brushes and just play with it and the other part just want to leave it as it is. you see that's why I need doubles of everything ... but who have that kind of money LOL. I really like the color story. I know its nothing new but still I like it a lot :) Retail $35

  • MAC x Selena Lipstick - shade Queen of Cumbia - a rich red lipstick that we could say it was a signature look of Selena. Retail $20
  • MAC x Selena Lipstick in the shade Selena Vive - its a light peachy nude that is just perfect for nude lovers :) Retail $20

Next week I will have another collection by MAC :) I got my order two days ago and most likely it will be up on Monday :)

Ulta 21 days of Beauty - Complete Haul

*purchased by me*

Another 21 days of beauty event passed. Next one will take place around September :)

Let me make this post short and just jump to my haul.

  • ABH Brow Wiz in the shade Taupe - last year during 21 days of Beauty I bought 2, and I run out of them fast. So this year without thinking twice I order 5 pencils. I love this brow pencil. Nothing that I tried so far compare to this :) I rarely try new brow products, but you will see something new a bit further down. :) There were $11 each during the sale (free cosmetic bag with 4 sample size product free with $45 purchase)

  •  Nabla Skin Glazing Highlighter in the shade Amnesia - I almost missed this! I was eyeing two more shades but they were sold out unfortunately. I haven't play much with it as I don't feel like doing my makeup now.  During the sale it was priced at $12

  • Sunday Riley Flash Fix Kit - it contains sample sizes of Good Genes and Ceramic Slip. I been dying to try Good Genes for a while, and grabbing this kit was a go for me. I get to try two products and make up my mind if I want to invest in full size :) Not bad for $12.50

  • Origins Go To Greats Day to Night Skin Care Essentials - i haven't tried Origins on forever. I remember buying years ago sample size masks and loving them. I though for $13 was well worth it. And I hope they work well for me.

  • Urban Decay - I grabbed two lipsticks Backtalk and Rapture. Rapture is a repurchase. I had that shade in the previous I believe that was revolutionary formula. I love the shade! Backtalk is a new shade for me and I heard people liking it so why not. Both were discounted during sale to $13.30 each.
  • Urban Decay Brow Blade Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil and Ink Stain - shade Taupe Trap. I love my ABH but this got me curious! TBH i don't see anyone talk about it or use it. So no clue, is it good? Have you tried it? Paid $13 during the sale
  • Urban Decay mini All Nighter Setting Spray was a gift with purchase, all you needed was to spend $35, which I did :) I love All Nighter and I actually am due for a full size bottle :)

  • Buxom Full On Plumping Lip Creams in the shades Dolly and White Russian - I love this! I never had a full size but I had sample sizes of both lip creams :) Cant wait to play with them :) $10.50 eah during the sale.

  • Cover FX Monochromatic Blush Duos - shades I picked up Soft Peach, Pink Dahlia, Mojave Mauve. I actually wanted them all. I know silly me... but ohh they are so pretty and I can't wait to ply with them. I wanted them ever since they came out but I can't spend $38 on one! During the sale they were discounted to $19
Ulta recently also had a Spring Sale and I got few products that were not shipped yet.
Also Sephora sale is on and I will be posting my haul in May :)

Elf's Bite Size Eye Shadow Palettes - Take it or Leave it?

*Purchased by me*

Can $3 eye shadow palette be any good?
Read this post and find out :)

I believe it was at the beginning of this year that ELF launched new tiny size eye shadow palettes.
Small palettes that come in 8 variation and contain 4 shades in each palette. Size wise perfect for travel and on the go beauty :) Its been a years since i tired ELF's eye shadows, and the ones I did were so bad! I know a lot of people loves the bigger palettes, the ones that cost $14. Even the $10 ones. I seriously suck coz ELF is one of the brands that I tent to skip over.. At my CVS they always have sales and good coupons but me , ugh I don't know ... I want a lot form the brand but always I go for different brand and different products. I just wait for some good promotion on ELF's website and will place order soon.

The bite size palettes when launched they sold out in minutes... I was hard for me to get a hold of it. But then one day I was browsing Ulta and I found them. Not all were in stock at that time but what ever was I added to my cart and waited for the rest. I think it took me 2-3 days and check them out. I was so excited! I knew I will blog about them regardless if they are good or bad. When I got the packages I was shocked to see that not all survived the trip to my home. Ulta didn't care much and just throw them in the box ... 5 out of 8 were broken and spilled all over the box. I called them right away and they were kind enough to re-ship the broken ones. Hence why this post is up soooo late.

Let me show you close ups of the palettes and later I will tell you my opinion if you didn't not guess already ...

* Cream and Sugar - nude toned palette that contains soft peach beige, gold champagne shimmer, bronze copper shimmer and deep brown. The first shade peachy beige is super light and it don't show well on my skin. I use it to buff out any harsh lines.

Shimmers are absolutely beautiful and beautifully pigmented.  I like this little quad for an easy every day and quick on the go look.

* Pumpkin Pie - warm toned nude palette that includes warm terra-cotta nude, orange copper shimmer, warm beige nude and bronze shimmer. This palette is so pretty and all colors come together nicely.

Unfortunately there is no dark shade that you could put in outer corner so I like to go to Cream and Sugar palette and use that dark brown or I go the palette below:)

* Truffles - a neutral tone palette. Contains beautiful shimmery silver, cool beige, dark brown and deep black.

Im not fan of black but love all other three shades. throw a silver all over the lid, lighter brown in the crease and darker brown in the outer corner and the look is done :)

* Carnival Candy - neutral with a pop of blue. includes soft cream, tan brown, deep red and jewel toned shimmery blue.

I'm not gonna lie I got this palette for the blue. And wow its beautiful.

* Rose Water - soft toned palette that includes soft rose shimmer, beige nude, deep rose shimmer and chocolate brown.

This palette is soft and really pretty! What I like to do it to pair this and Berry Bad palette together. I think they both compliments each other really well.

* Berry Bad - warm berry tones palette that includes pinky nude, rose copper shimmer, rich warm berry shimmer and deep red.

this palette works good with the softer one, as the colors kinda blend one into another.

* Hot Jalapeno- green and gold palette that includes yellow gold shimmer, green gold shimmer, olive green and black.

I love green and gold shades. I was never brave enough to wear green all over the lid but in the outer corner and lash line I like very much :)

* Acai You - blue, purple palette. Includes soft periwinkle, purple blue shimmer, deep purple blue and dark blue purple.

Its a pretty palette but the colors kinda get all muddy and kinda blend one into another. I like it but it is the not my favorite .

Overall I do feel these are worth it. I really like majority of it with exception of one or two.
They said these they are good for travel but I would be very careful with it. The shadows are really soft and they can be easily  broken. Some get a lot of kick up so be easy when you go with the brush. But for $3 I feel that they are worth the try.
